Scheana Shay is about to fulfill a lifelong dream.
Nearly two months after the Vanderpump Rules reboot was confirmed, Scheana announced she was adding “published author” to her resume. That’s right, the former SURver just finished writing her first-ever memoir, My Good Side, and is expected to share it with the world later this year.
Scheana Shay says writing her first book was “healing”
“As you all know, one chapter of my life has come to an end, and I’m ready to turn the page and tell my own story,” she wrote in a January 24 Instagram. “You’ve seen one side of me on reality TV, another side through filtered social media content, but MY GOOD SIDE isn’t a highlight reel. It digs deep into the core of who I am—the good, the bad, the messy, along with the missteps and lessons learned along the way.”
Scheana said the book-writing experience was “both cathartic and healing,” as it pushed her to recall intimate details about her life and divulge stories that she’s never shared before… not even to her closest friends.
“The rose-colored glasses are off, and this is me at my most authentic,” she continued. “To all of you who have been right there with me every step of the way, and even to those who haven’t, I can’t wait to show you every side of me.”
What will Scheana address in her forthcoming memoir?
The mother of one shed more light on her memoir in the January 24 episode of Scheananigans, confirming it would explore all eras of her life, ranging from her parents’ relationship and her West Coast upbringing to her early Hollywood days and her Bravo debut.
“This is something I’ve literally wanted to do my entire life — like, it has always been a dream of mine,” she said. “I loved English class and journalism and all of that in school. I used to write for the school newspaper, and I was like, one day, I’m going to write a book…
“I am so excited because it’s been a journey writing it, which I do talk about in the book,” she continued. “I talk about how my mom and dad met, up until… you’re getting as recent as a month ago. I was just finishing writing this book in December. I talk about the end of Vanderpump Rules and everything in between… You [also] get a little bit of my Hollywood black book… You’re gonna love it.”
