IKEA Brought Back This Iconic Vintage Collection for the Sixth Time

For those who enjoy the unique personality of decor from the ’60s through the ’90s, tune in: IKEA took some of its most popular vintage designs and reimagined them, breathing new life into old favorites. The Nytillverkad collection relaunched for the sixth time, boasting vintage pieces you won’t be able to divert your attention from (oak pendant lampshades, anyone?).

What to Expect in the Relaunch

For its 80th anniversary, IKEA reworked chairs, customizable shelves, and other home decor from previous decades. Expect captivating, plush swivel armchairs and duvet covers that feel and look as soft as a cloud.

For a playful take on bedding and other home decor, look no further than the KLIPPBRÄCKA products, featuring a funky black and white popcorn pattern by designer Anna Efverlund. Efverlund also designed a few fun statement pieces for IKEA, such as the eclectic KÄLLARHALS vases. In vibrant yellows and oranges, these lacquered glass vases come in bubbly, curvy shapes perfect for adding color and texture to a room.

“Simply adding one piece from this collection will make a statement, with items that can also change form and color to fit each individual home,” Nytillverkad collection creative leader Karin Gustavsson said. “We have pulled inspiration from four decades, reimagining the pieces to feel fresh and new. You will find a palette of bold colors, as well as softer, curvier accent pieces and playful prints to make every day that little bit more joyful.”

You might recognize one trendy shelf in this collection that has been popular since its first launch: the BYAKORRE Open Shelf Unit. While it is already sold out, you can keep checking on IKEA’s website for its wishful return (or, if you’re lucky, you might find some of these collection items pop up on IKEA’s secondhand market).

There are currently 50 products to choose from in the Nytillverkad collection. Not every item will be sticking around forever, so snag the ones you want before they return to their original decades.
