    • Redesigned midsize crossover has standard all-wheel drive, new 285-hp V-6
    • RTL replaces the EX-L as entry point to Passport
    • Top TrailSport Elite climbs to $53,900

The 2026 Honda Passport arrives with a higher price and a push toward the off-road TrailSport model. Honda deleted the entry-level EX-L trim and swapped in the RTL grade on sale today for $46,200, including a $1,450 destination charge, the brand announced Tuesday. The RTL joins the TrailSport and TrailSport Elite for the fourth-generation Passport.

Honda leans into the TrailSport’s off-road promise with blockier, truckier styling, but it also gets longer and roomier than the 2025 Honda Passport. The wheelbase stretches 2.6 inches longer on a platform shared with the Honda Pilot and Acura MDX three-row crossover SUVs. The Passport seats five in its two rows and those rear passengers get 1.3 inches more rear legroom. Honda says the new platform has greater front lateral rigidity and increased rear torsional rigidity that should promise a more composed ride.

A new 3.5-liter V-6 with dual-overhead cams instead of a single one replace the outgoing V-6, and it makes 285 hp, up from 280 hp, and the same 262 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic replaces the 9-speed, and the Passport comes standard with paddle-shifters and all-wheel drive with torque vectoring on the rear axle. Up to 70% of the torque can go to the rear axle, and all of the power at the rear can go to the wheel with traction. The Passport can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

The EPA rates it at 19 mpg city, 25 highway, 21 combined. TrailSport models get 18/23/20 mpg.

Every Passport also comes with a suite of standard driver-assist features that include automatic emergency braking, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, automatic high beams, a rear-seat reminder, and front and rear parking sensors.

The $46,200 RTL comes with cloth upholstery, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Assistant, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. It has power front seats that are heated and a power tailgate.

The two TrailSport models add more than just that rugged off-road look that’s all the rage. Mechanical upgrades make it more than just a soft-roader, with 31-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires, an off-road suspension tune, skid plates for the transmission and fuel tank, front tow hooks, and a trailer hitch connector. A surround-view camera system with forward and side views promises to help on narrow trails or when backing out of a parking spot. A “TrailWatch” view activates automatically when in Trail mode and below 15 mph. Other drive modes consist of Normal, Econ, Sport, Snow, Sand, and Tow. Standard hill descent control on all models can be set between 2 and 12 mph.

    It costs $49,900 with destination.

The top TrailSport Elite costs $53,900 and comes with perforated leather upholstery, cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, 12-speaker Bose audio, and ambient lighting.

Every Passport can be blacked out with a $1,200 Blackout package.
