Toyota issued a recall for 167,802 Sienna minivans from model years 2021 through 2025 because their third-row seats may not be installed correctly. The recall doesn’t cover every Sienna built during those model years. Toyota buys seats from more than one supplier for the minivan. Only those with seats from a specific supplier may have the problem.
The company tells federal safety officials that bolts attaching the 60/40 split rear seats “may not have been torqued to specification at a specific manufacturing facility of a specific supplier.”
That could be dangerous in an accident, as it might keep the seats from performing as designed.
Dealers will fix the problem by tightening the bolts to the proper specification.
Manufacturers recall many cars, sometimes more than once. Manufacturers try to reach every owner to warn them. However, some may fall through the system’s cracks and are left unknowingly driving recalled cars. Check our easy recall tool to determine if your car has any outstanding recalls.
