Kyle Richards opened up about her and Mauricio Umansky’s split like never before during Season 14, Episode 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and now, she’s sharing even more information about what went wrong in their marriage.

“I mean, clearly if you want something to work, you have to do the work. And I didn’t see that being done. I think Mau thought, ‘I’m always nice to you.’ And that’s that’s not doing the work; That’s being nice to me,” Kyle said on the Feb. 25 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show. “But doing the work? I just don’t know if he has it in him, or wants to.”

She also clarified a comment she previously made during her at-home appointment with her therapist and life coach about Mauricio “not fighting” for their marriage.

“Not doing the work is what I mean when I say not fighting for the marriage,” Kyle continued on the After Show. “When it actually did crumble and we separated, we finally went to therapy, but there was an agreement where he would go to therapy on his own and we would do therapy together and I would go on my own, and he just decided not to do that.”

Does Kyle Richards plan to divorce Mauricio Umansky?

On the RHOBH After Show, Kyle said that since filming on Season 14 wrapped, she’s talked to Mauricio about what’s next in their separation. As she put it, “I have said to him, ‘We have to have the harder conversations now. A lot of decisions are going to have to be made.'”

Why hasn’t Kyle Richards filed for divorce yet?

Kyle said on the RHOBH After Show that she and Mauricio have simply been hesitant to make their split official. “If we hated each other it would be so easy — not really, but emotionally easy. I think that it was just hard, and neither one of us wanted to be the one to say, ‘OK. We’re not going to be together and let’s start figuring everything out,'” Kyle explained. “We’ve made it easy for each other to not have to do that by just avoiding everything, actually.”

In another After Show clip, Kyle further discussed how she’s constantly being asked about the prospect of divorce — even from her own castmates. “I think a lot of the women were pressing for answers from me before I even had the answers myself. I think they didn’t believe me, but I genuinely did not,” she said. “They were watching my marriage unfold in real time. So, I was like, ‘Guys, I don’t have the answers. Not everyone has them that fast.”

So, yes — it’s taken Kyle and Mauricio quite some time to figure out where they’ll go from here. But Kyle needed that time.

“I need time to figure things out. Time to figure out where I’m at. It doesn’t bring me happiness to say, ‘My marriage didn’t work out and I’m moving on.’ But I’m happy that I’m in a place where I can at least say, ‘OK, we should have these conversations.’ They’re not easy to have, but decisions need to be made,” Kyle continued. “I’m clear now and I feel stronger, which I’m really grateful for because a year ago I did not feel strong. I just felt scared. In my mind, I knew we were going to have to move forward, just at our own pace. And, you know, we’re just taking it day by day.”

Why Kyle Richards is becoming “impatient” with Mauricio Umansky

Kyle’s RHOBH After Show remarks come on the heels of her revealing therapy session, during which she admitted she’s eager to move forward in her separation with Mauricio. “Everyone’s like, ‘Are you getting divorced? Are you getting divorced?’ I mean, everybody asks me that. I think I’m anxious, I’m getting impatient. I’m impatient because I wanna know what my life is gonna be. I think it’s different for men. I mean, he’s just going and living his best life. He’s a happy little camper,” Kyle explained.

When Kyle’s therapist asked her why she can’t also live her best life, she said that she can. “I guess it’s just, there’s a little part of me that thinks, okay, say I move on with somebody new. What if he’s like, ‘OK, I went and sowed my wild oats,’ or whatever that expression is,” Kyle added, weighing the possibility that Mauricio might want to get back together. “I mean, he’s the one that said, ‘I know this comes with a risk.’”

At the same time, “When we were struggling, it felt like he was just waiting for me to get over it instead of saying, like, ‘No, I love you, we are not doing this, we’re going to fight until we fix everything,'” Kyle continued. “I don’t know what’s more sad: If he didn’t want to fight for me, or if he wanted to and didn’t know how. Either way, he didn’t. I’m starting to feel like I need to really move on.”
