VW, Audi Recall 30,000 Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Problem – Kelley Blue Book


Volkswagen and its Audi luxury marque have recalled 29,569 vehicles because their backup cameras may not display an image.

Recalled vehicles include some, but not all, examples of the:

Company officials tell the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the cameras and wiring connections are fine. However, a software error can prevent the image from displaying.

Dealers will correct the issue with a software update, which is among the quickest service appointments. However, these vehicles can’t receive updates over the air, so owners must bring them to the dealership to have the patch downloaded.

Recall repairs are always free.
