Volvo has recalled just 15 S90 sedans from model year 2025 for an alarming reason. “The windows may be improperly secured and detach,” the company tells federal safety officials.
The recall covers only cars built during a certain window of dates, Volvo says, when a batch of adhesive may not have adequately cured. “There is a risk that all windows that are bonded to the body have poor adhesion. The windows may detach from the vehicle.”
In addition to the obvious safety problem of glass on the roadway, Volvo says, “In the event of a crash, the passenger airbag may not have sufficient support from the front windscreen” and may not properly protect passengers.
Dealers will fix the problem by removing and re-attaching the windows with new adhesive.
