Pa. Justices Seem Skeptical of Higher Standard for Inconvenient Forum


The Pennsylvania Supreme Court seems like it might be inclined to reject a lower appeals court ruling that, if upheld, could make it harder for defendants to succeed on venue challenges.

During oral arguments Tuesday in Tranter v. Z&D Tours, the justices seemed highly skeptical of the Superior Court’s decision to reverse a trial court’s transfer of a collection of lawsuits over a fatal bus crash from Philadelphia to Westmoreland County, where the accident occurred.
