Ford will ask owners of 234 Mustang Mach-E SUVs from model years 2021 and 2022 to bring them back into the dealership to have a recall repair repeated.
The company recalled more than 50,000 Mach-E SUVs in 2022 to correct a problem that could cause them to lose propulsion suddenly. A software update corrected the issue for most. However, Ford has since discovered a defect in a tool dealers use to install software updates.
Ford says some cars “were recorded as having the repair successfully completed in Ford’s records” despite not receiving the update. So, dealers need to see them again to update the software and verify installation.
As always with recalls, the fix is free.
