Mercedes-Benz has recalled 88 Sprinter vans from model year 2024 because their parking brakes can fail.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “spot welds that attach the parking brake cable bracket to the underbody frame might not meet current production specifications.” If those welds fail, the vans are left with no parking brake.

Dealers will inspect the welds and strengthen them if necessary to reduce the risk, Mercedes says.

Recall repairs are always free. But millions of us miss recall notices every year and unknowingly drive recalled vehicles. Find out if your car needs any free safety repairs at our easy recall center.
