Federal courts are unlikely to impose hefty security bonds on plaintiffs who win extraordinary relief from Trump administration policies, according to litigators with Big Law backgrounds.

With the Trump administration facing dozens of active lawsuits, “There’s an impulse to do something, and they’re trying to do something, and this is a lever they thought they could pull,” ArentFox Schiff partner J. Michael Showalter said Friday of President Donald Trump’s new policy invoking Rule 65(c) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
