Mercedes Recalls EQE Over Loose Wheel Rims – Kelley Blue Book

Mercedes-Benz has recalled just four EQE sedans from model year 2023 because wheel rim inserts can detach from the cars while it is moving. It hasn’t happened to any owners yet, but the company believes it’s possible.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it reworked the design of its wheel rims during production after finding that an early design could detach under the everyday stresses of driving. The company later learned that a handful of the early design rims “might have been used as spare parts in the field.”

Dealers will inspect the recalled vehicles and, if they find any rim inserts of the defective early design, replace them with the more effective later version.

Recall repairs are always free.

Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car needs any critical safety repairs at our recall center.
