Over the years on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, we’ve typically seen Melissa Gorga rock dark brunette locks. In the past, however, the New Jersey native has experimented here and there with lighter tresses.
Recently, Melissa took to her Instagram page to celebrate her love with her husband, Joe Gorga, for Valentine’s Day. “My Valentine since I’m 24. Happy Valentine’s Lovers,” Melissa wrote in the caption of the post. The image featured a throwback photo of the pair, and we couldn’t help but notice the vibrancy of Melissa’s lighter locks — a departure from the deep brunette mane she’s often sported.
Melissa’s hair in the photo still appeared to have a chestnut-colored hue to some of the pieces while others featured more of a light blonde vibe, giving her a whole new look. On top of that, Melissa’s hair in the photo was a short chop that barely grazed her shoulders.
Though Melissa has worn her hair in a longer length recently, we’d love to see her revisit a shorter bob or shoulder-length style in the future!

In addition to wearing a shorter, blonde-flecked ‘do, Melissa once rocked chunky blonde highlights.
In a throwback photo, the mom-of-three can be seen smiling with her hair styled in straightened, chunky blonde highlights that contrasted with her natural brunette color. Her look was completed with a white tube top, light-wash jeans, and a white belt.
While Melissa’s classic brunette hair remains a staple, the bold highlights were a defining trend of the time. Now, Melissa may incorporate more of a blended look with honey-blonde style highlights, as seen in the photo above with her husband, Joe.
Melissa Gorga debuted new hair in December 2024
Melissa recently updated her hairstyle just before the 2024 holidays, incorporating a few fleks of lighter highlights into her deep brunette mane.
She opted for an espresso base with caramel ribbons and highlights throughout for the updated hairstyle, giving her a fresher look. Melissa also cut off several inches of her hair, achieving a shorter, blonder style. She shared her excitement over the change, crediting her hairstylist for the new look.
“[A] little shorter and a little blonder thanks to my girl,” Melissa wrote over the photo, tagging her hairstylist, Rachael Sackie.
