Cadillac and Chevrolet have recalled 934 cars because they can lose power steering assist. If that happens, the driver can still steer the car, but it will require unexpectedly heavy effort, which could contribute to a crash.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a circuit board inside the power steering assembly may have a connection problem. If power steering fails, drivers will hear a chime and see a message in the gauge cluster. Power steering will sometimes start to work again if the driver turns the car on and off, but it can fail again if that happens.
GM is aware of 43 customer complaints but no accidents or injuries related to the issue.
Dealers will fix it by replacing the power steering gear assembly.
