Jenner & Block and Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr obtained temporary relief late Friday, barring portions of executive orders issued against the law firms this week.
In the Jenner case, U.S. District Judge John D. Bates of the District of Columbia enjoined the government from implementing sections three and five of the order, stating that the firm had made a showing that Trump administration had violated the firm’s First, Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights. He also enjoined the government from using section one of the order, which laid out the president’s rationale for targeting Jenner, to inform any interactions between the government and Jenner (as well as firm clients).
