Gia Giudice has an adorable relationship with her longtime boyfriend, Christian Carmichael, but the two just revealed that they secretly broke up at one point during their romance.

    How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and Bravo.

Teresa Giudice’s eldest daughter and her boyfriend discussed their relationship on the March 30 episode of her new podcast, Casual Chaos with Gia Giudice. After dating for most of Gia’s collegiate career, The Real Housewives of New Jersey kid broke up with Christian in March of her junior year at Rutgers University.

“It started getting foggy in February, honestly, it was after my date night that it all went downhill,” she said, referring to a sorority event. “He was basically just immature. Very immature.”

Christian agreed with Gia’s sentiment, adding, “The reason we broke up was because I was immature. Basically, [my] communication was horrible. I was always with my friends and I had no drive, you always said. I didn’t have my first job until I was 21… You hated that.”

“I hated it. It bothered me so much,” Gia admitted. “It didn’t turn me on, honestly. I just felt like you had no motivation, no drive, and it really bothered me…. School really wasn’t for you at all.”

Another reason for the split? Because Gia’s in the public eye, she would often get DMs from people who spotted Christian out and about. Though she never saw him doing anything nefarious, she said it contributed to their eventual split.

Why Gia Giudice and Christian got back together after breaking up

After Gia and Christian broke up, however, he got two jobs and changed some of his previous behaviors.

“That was basically why I broke up with him, and then he just obviously was doing everything to show me that he was growing as a person,” Gia said.

“We got back together after like six [or] seven months,” she continued. “And we’ve been together ever since now… I bet none of you even knew we broke up during that time, honestly.”

How does Teresa Giudice feel about Gia’s boyfriend, Christian?

Gia’s mom, Teresa, has a great relationship with Christian. “My mom’s obsessed with him, literally,” Gia said on the March 30 episode of her podcast.

    “She’s the best,” Christian agreed.

“My mom loves Christian,” Gia continued, noting that her sisters Gabriella Giudice, Milania Giudice, and Audriana Giudice also like him, as does her dad, Joe Giudice. “But, you know, Christian honestly has an amazing relationship with everyone in my family.”

Find out why Gia is still living at Teresa and Luis “Louie” Ruelas’ home.
