Cadillac has issued a recall for 10,643 Lyriq SUVs from model year 2025. Or, rather, for their owner’s manuals.
The company tells federal safety regulators that the manuals that came with the cars give an inaccurate description of how to adjust the rear headrests. The company accidentally printed manuals worldwide with instructions relevant only to Chinese-market cars.
This is a safety issue since the headrests act as restraints in an accident and help prevent whiplash. If passengers can’t adjust them properly, the headrests might not protect as well as they should.
Owners won’t need to bring their manuals to the dealership for repair. Cadillac will simply mail owners a supplement with the correct instructions.
