The South African legal market is in flux as top firms ramp up their partner hiring after the fallout from last year’s exit of A&O Shearman and Hogan Lovells in Johannesburg.
Much of the talent has been snapped up by Bowmans, which is aggressively hiring in South Africa, adding more than 30 lawyers this year alone, after hiring the bulk of A&O Shearman’s operation.
