Combine the versatility of a table saw and combine it with the reliable quality characteristic of the DeWalt name, and the result is a multi-purpose tool that is straightforward to use, trustworthy, and long-lasting. Whether you’re a DIY enthusiast, home woodworker, or jobsite contractor, DeWalt table saws are ideal for cutting sheet materials, commonly used 2×4 lumber, and a variety of other stock sizes. However, since DeWalt makes a range of excellent models, choosing just one of these useful power tools can be challenging.

To aid your decision, we tested two popular DeWalt table saws, ultimately selecting the DeWalt 10-Inch Jobsite Table Saw With Rolling Stand as our top pick. This DIY-friendly yet professional-grade model is not only easy to use but also delivers ample power and exceptional accuracy. Read on to see what else we loved about this option and learn which features matter most when choosing one of the best DeWalt table saws.

Our Ratings: Ease of Use 4/5; Power 5/5; Accuracy 5/5; Portability 5/5; Value 5/5

The DeWalt 10-inch table saw is a top-tier tool that delivers power and precision in a relatively portable package. Designed for professionals and serious DIYers, it has a 15-amp motor that cut easily through hardwood, pressure-treated lumber, and plywood in our tests. With an impressive 32.5-inch rip capacity, it even handled large sheets of plywood with ease. Compared to the other portable table saws we tested, this was the most stable of the bunch due to its aggressive leg flares. Still, the 90-pound unit didn’t take up more space than any other model and was easy to move and store thanks to its folding, rolling stand.

As impressed as we were with the performance of this DeWalt portable table saw, so much so that it also earned the top award in our review of the best table saws from any brand, setting it up proved a bit tedious. It took one set of testers (who hadn’t used a table saw in many years and needed to reacquaint themselves with its components and operation) nearly 2 hours, while a contractor duo on our team did it in about 45 minutes. Both teams found assembling the collapsible rolling stand especially time-consuming, while attaching the blade, riving knife, and blade guard was quick and easy. Once each piece was installed, each team noted that the rack and pinion fence system delivered smooth, square, and accurate cuts right away. Unlike cheaper models with flimsy fences that require repeated realignment, this folding table saw stayed true, even after rolling the saw across varied terrain and relocating and reattaching the fence for storage.

In addition to providing precision and portability, this DeWalt stand table saw does an excellent job addressing safety via its blade guard, shark fin-style riving knife, anti-kickback pawls, flip-cover power button, and included push stick. Its on/off switch and depth, bevel, and fence adjustments are conveniently located on the front for easy operation, and the 2.5-inch dust port helps keep the workspace clean. Those looking for a reliable, well-designed tool for a jobsite or home woodworking shop won’t be disappointed.

What our tester says: “Since neither of us has used a table saw since we had our dads by our sides for help, we were a bit intimidated during initial setup and testing. Once we got going, though, we found it was actually quite easy to use—even with our limited experience. Given that the contractors who tested it felt the same, we’re confident that this unit’s design and accuracy make one of the best table saws for beginners as well as professionals.” —Michelle Larson, Product Reviews tester and writer

Though we haven’t yet had a chance to personally test the DeWalt Flexvolt benchtop table saw, the brand’s compact jobsite model earned a place on our list of the best portable table saws.

The corded 8¼-inch compact model offers consistent power for jobsite use, and the DeWalt cordless table saw comes with a rechargeable 60-volt battery for convenient operation even where electricity isn’t available.

How We Tested the Best DeWalt Table Saws

    Products tested  2
    Time spent testing  10 hours
    Tests performed 9
    Price range $375 to $650

Since DeWalt is a high-quality brand, it was relatively easy to find both a DeWalt battery-powered table saw as well as a corded model we were interested in testing. After evaluating the available options based on capacity, size, portability, and power, we chose two models and began the assembly process.

Once each saw was ready, we evaluated their alignment and ability to produce accurate cuts in hardwood, softwood, and plywood. We ran the boards lengthwise to test the motors while noting the security of the fence, riving knife, and blade guard. We made straight and angled cuts, tested extra features like dust ports and onboard storage for included DeWalt table saw accessories, and changed their blades. We collapsed the unit with the rolling stand before wheeling it around our property and carried the compact model across the jobsite to see how portable its 54 pounds felt. After our tests were complete, we scored the saws on assembly, ease of use, performance, power, portability, accuracy, and value.

    FAQs

    Q. Are DeWalt table saws good for woodworking?

Yes. DeWalt table saws are a popular choice for home and small professional workshops and among jobsite carpenters. They have the performance and capacities required for a variety of woodworking projects. You might also consider a DeWalt miter saw if you predominantly need to make angled cuts.

See our guide on miter saws vs. table saws for more on choosing the right one.

    Q. What is a good RPM for a table saw?

Generally speaking, 3,000 to 4,000 RPM is considered a good speed for a table saw. Most DeWalt models exceed this, which makes them great for cutting tough materials like composite boards and hardwoods.

    Q. Does DeWalt make a cabinet table saw?

No. DeWalt focuses on benchtop, jobsite, and hybrid table saws for DIY and professional users. The company offers very competitive ripping capacities but does not have the massive table areas of cabinet saws.

    Q. Is DeWalt coming out with a new 10-inch table saw?

DeWalt has a policy of continuing development and improvement, so a new DeWalt table saw could be imminent. Regardless, the DeWalt 10-Inch Jobsite Table Saw With Rolling Stand highlighted in this guide is an exceptional option.

    Q. How do I change the blade on a DeWalt table saw?

To change a table saw blade, start by disconnecting the power. Remove the guard and throat plate to allow access, and then raise the blade to reach its arbor nuts, which you’ll need to loosen using the wrenches provided. Slide the old blade off, fit the new one in, refit and retighten the nuts, and replace the throat plate and guard. Finish up by checking for alignment.

While this basic procedure applies to all DeWalt table saws, there may be slight variations, so always check the owner’s manual first.

    Q. How do I set up a DeWalt table saw?

Setting up a DeWalt table saw is usually straightforward. Many come more or less ready to go, although there may be some minor assembly depending on the model. It’s essential to check that the blade is at 90 degrees to the table and aligned correctly during setup. While this isn’t difficult, model variations mean you’ll need to follow the steps listed in your user manual rather than relying on one-size-fits-all instructions. It’s also a good idea to review basic information on how to use a table saw before making any cuts.

    Q. How do I unlock a DeWalt table saw?

DeWalt table saws don’t have a locking mechanism. Some have a blade lock screw and lever, but these are used to adjust blade angle; they don’t lock the saw.
