Ram has recalled 10,396 Ram 1500 pickups from model year 2025 because they can tell drivers to overinflate their tires.
If sensors detect low pressure, Ram says, a screen warning tells drivers to inflate tires to 50 psi. The tires, however, require lower pressure. Filling them all the way to 50 psi could be unsafe.
“Tires that are inflated to higher than maximum pressure ratings may increase the risk of a tire blowout, which may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning,” Ram explains.
The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem, but says it has received 15 warranty claims and 23 field reports of it.
Dealers will fix the issue with a software update.
