Martha Stewart’s Rose Already Sold Out—But You’ll Still Get a Chance to Grow It

Martha Stewart’s Rose Already Sold Out—But You’ll Still Get a Chance to Grow It

Key Takeaways

  • The Martha Stewart hybrid tea rose, known for its peachy-pink blooms, was tested for over two years before its release.
  • Available through Edmunds’ Roses, it sold out quickly due to high demand—though you can sign up for restock alerts.
  • You can see the roses in person at the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden in NYC, with peak bloom expected in June.

There’s a new rose cultivar on the market, and it’s named after none other than gardening queen Martha Stewart. Her love for rose-growing is apparent in her impressive gardens year after year, and now, family-owned and operated rose growers Meilland created a breed that speaks to Stewart’s love for these blossoms.

All About Martha Stewart’s Rose

The rose variety, which is simply named Martha Stewart, is a delicate, peachy-pink hybrid tea rose. Each blossom features layers upon layers of soft petals, boasting well over 100 petals per flower. The huge pink blooms stand out beautifully against the plant’s shiny, emerald green leaves.

Each flower also features a striking scent of citrus and honeysuckle, guaranteed to grace both your home and garden with its sweet fragrance. The flowers themselves grow to about 4 to 5 inches.

The Martha Stewart tea roses were released to the public for the very first time this year via Star Roses and Plants. According to the company, the rose bushes are hardy to planting zones 5-11. Don’t forget to follow Martha Stewart’s rose care instructions, which include giving your roses full sunlight and planting them in well-draining soil.

“One thing that is truly special is having a glorious, highly scented, and beautifully colored hybrid tea rose named after me!” Stewart wrote on her Instagram. “I am so happy that such a great rose is named after me and that so many of you will be adding it to your garden!”

According to Stewart’s post, she helped test these roses before they were officially released. Stewart and her gardener, Ryan McCallister, planted the roses to see how consistently they would grow, bloom, and what they’d smell like. After two years of hard work, the roses were deemed ready to sell.

How to Buy Martha Stewart Tea Roses

The only place that you’ll be able to find these Martha Stewart roses this year is at Edmunds’ Roses. Unfortunately, demand has been high for these unique blooms, so they’ve already sold out.

However, you can still sign up to be notified via email as soon as Edmunds’ has more available stock—the best way to ensure that you can get your hands on these roses as soon as possible. The rose is shipped directly to you and comes bare root and typically retails for $40 per plant.

Stock is likely to expand in the future as more of the Martha Stewart roses are cultivated, so keep checking back in if you want to add them to your summer flower garden.

Martha Stewart Roses Coming to New York

If you’re interested in seeing the Martha Stewart tea roses before planting them yourself, you’ll have your chance this summer at the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden in New York City. The blooms will be on display there this year and are expected to reach their peak in June.
