Brittany Cartwright Reveals if She’s Moving Back to Kentucky After Jax Split: “A Lot Going On” | Bravo

Since Brittany Cartwright announced her split from Jax Taylor in February 2024, she’s had somewhat of a whirlwind living situation (more on that below). Considering this, fans have wondered if she’s considering moving back to her hometown in Kentucky to raise her son, Cruz Michael Cauchi.

How to Watch

On the April 29 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, a viewer asked about the idea, further wondering what would make her stay in Los Angeles, California. “In LA there’s just a lot going on and I need to be able to support my son and I feel like LA’s the best place for that right now,” Brittany began. “There’s so many more opportunities there and a lot that I can do.”

Additionally, Brittany explained why her son’s autism diagnosis influenced her plan to stay put. “I’ve already got Cruz set up in all the therapies and everything that he has and his support group is so incredible,” she shared. “They love him so much. They care about everything about his life just as much as I do, and I don’t really want to change up what’s happening at this moment.”

She concluded: “But I love Kentucky, I love visiting home. I’m a Kentucky girl always, through and through.”

Brittany Cartwright explains why she temporarily moved out of the house she shared with Jax

After announcing her split from Jax, Brittany moved out of their family home and lived in various rental properties for several months. In a February 2024 episode of her When Reality Hits podcast, Brittany explained her decision, saying she needed to “take some space for the sake of [her] mental health.”

She added, “I won’t get into too many details right now because this is still very hard to talk about and I’m taking things one day at a time,” and emphasized that her focus was on being “the best mom to Cruz.”

She ended with, “I love you guys. Pray for us. And everything will be just fine.” Brittany returned to the property in September 2024 after Jax moved out and secured a townhouse.

Brittany Cartwright updates her house amid Jax Taylor split

In a recent interview with People magazine, Brittany opened up about her living situation, revealing she never wanted to leave her home but felt she had no choice.

She explained, “Jax would not leave for seven months,” adding, “I even said that he could move into the rental houses that I paid for. He still wouldn’t do it.” Brittany continued, “I didn’t know if I was going to get a chance to come back here. I went looking for houses, and I did all these different things.”

After returning to the home with Cruz, Brittany made a symbolic change to the welcome mat. “It used to say the Cauchis,” she said, adding, “Changed that immediately.” The mat now reads, “The Cartwrights.”
