Ecommerce applications and services provider commercetools has released a new round of platform updates.
The new commercetools updates aim at helping enterprise customers improve digital commerce experiences, scale operations, and enhance team efficiency. Specifically, the release includes updates across customer experience, global growth, and operational tooling, with a particular focus on B2B commerce features and unified retail workflows. Commercetools said it designed the updates to address increasing pressure from inflation, evolving buyer expectations, and the need for faster digital transformation.
New commercetools platform update
Among the key additions are expanded B2B functionality, including collaborative purchasing lists and enhanced permissions, quote editing, and business unit management. The company also introduced new subscription and loyalty tools, including recurring order capabilities and “Buy & Get” promotional logic.
“From faster launches to smarter commerce capabilities in areas that matter most, like payments and promotions, we are working hard so that our customers can be best positioned to win,” says commercetools chief product officer Shiri Mosenzon Erez.
New capabilities for omnichannel commerce include expanded features in commercetools InStore, which power both online and in-store transactions from a unified backend. Australian electronics retailer Jaycar is among the early adopters.
On the operational side, updates to the Import API have already driven 25% adoption in the first week, according to the company. Enhancements to the Payment Hub now enable no-code integrations with payment service providers, while inventory reservation and product search improvements aim to boost conversion and real-time accuracy.
The company also noted improvements in merchant workflows, including bulk discount editing and API monitoring tools for technical teams.
The update reflects commercetools’ continued push into composable commerce infrastructure, a model that allows enterprise users to mix and match APIs for specific business needs without relying on legacy systems.
