I live with about 30 houseplants, and despite all the plant-parent discourse I’ve seen online about how fickle a fiddle-leaf fig tree is to care for, I’ve never had an issue with mine. Knock on wood. I’ve found it thrives best when I mostly leave it alone. I bought my fiddle-leaf fig during the pandemic, when my houseplant obsession was at its highest, and she has been alive and well for the past five years (although now I’m paranoid it will drop dead after admitting this!).
In my own experience, the key to keeping my fiddle-leaf fig tree in good health—even more so than monitoring humidity levels or shaking the stem to simulate the wind from its natural tropical habitat—has been the plant stand that I use. The Le Tauci 10-Inch Planter, which comes with an acacia wood stand, is part planter, part stand.

Planters and plant stands are a huge part of your plant’s care, and yet, both are often overlooked. This plant stand elevates my fiddle-leaf closer to the light, improving its overall exposure. If I need it closer to the window, I can flip it upside down to adjust the height without any installation or adjustment mechanism. It’s also helpful in preventing overwatering because I can visibly tell if water is running out of the planter through the drainage hole or if it’s pooling at the bottom of the planter. Both communicate a lot about the health of the fiddle-leaf fiddle tree’s soil, and I can readjust my watering schedule or repot the plant if I need to.
Of course, it also helps that the plant stand is pretty. It has a simple, modern, and minimalistic look that goes with every iteration of my home’s decor. (It has seen many eras in five years, and this plant stand has been around for all of them!)

I also appreciate the plant stand’s size. The flower pot itself measures 10 inches x 10 inches x 10 inches, but with the wooden frame, measures 12.6 inches x 13.1 inches x 17 inches—the perfect size to accommodate my almost 4-foot tall fiddle-leaf fig tree. The height also keeps it away from my dog, which is crucial given that fiddle leafs are toxic to pets (cats, too). Luckily, my dog doesn’t bother the plants—except the ones in the garden—but this plant stand gives me peace of mind anyway.
This plant stand is made from ceramic, which is considered one of the best materials for planters, specifically for plants that will benefit from extra airflow. The porous nature of the ceramic planter means more moisture and air can get through, which sustains the soil’s humidity levels. A byproduct of those healthy humidity levels and improved air circulation is increased nutrient absorption, which helps encourage healthy root growth. That’s of huge importance to maintaining a thriving fiddle-leaf fig tree.
Choosing the right plant stand is key to showing off your green thumb, and if you’ve been scrolling through plant stands, looking for one that can save your fiddle-leaf fig tree, try the same one I use: the Le Tauci 10-Inch Planter. It’s my favorite plant stand for difficult houseplant species, but feel free to shop more plant stands below, including an editor-loved pick from our own line at Walmart.
