Ford has recalled 128,889 Bronco SUVs from model years 2022-2023 because 360-degree surround-view camera systems may not display an image. Bronco models with the standard backup camera setup are not included in the recall.
Ford tells federal safety regulators that “Customers may intermittently experience either a rear camera blue image or a full blue or black image on the SYNC screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse, or when the 360-degree view is selected and available (during low-speed operation).”
Internal connections within the camera may come out of alignment or accumulate corrosion, the company says.
Dealers will replace the cameras to fix the problem. By law, they don’t charge for recall repairs.
