Do you ever struggle to name a product? Amazon is offering a new tool to help businesses create brand names, which it is calling an “artificial intelligence (AI)-powered brand name generator.”
But it does more than come up with suggestions for brand names – it helps sellers navigate initial research into IP issues:
“This free tool provides brand name ideas that are tailored to your company, product category, and target audience, as well as explanations that detail why each name is effective. It also performs a preliminary search of US Patent and Trademark Office records.
“After you choose a name, you can use the Intellectual Property (IP) Accelerator program to connect with vetted IP service providers that offer competitive rates and can guide you through the steps to clear and secure your trademark.
“While the name generator can provide a starting point, we recommend that you connect with an authorized attorney to further assess brand name availability.”
Amazon also announced a unique way it’s using AI in its fulfillment centers with the introduction of a robot called Vulcan. “Built on key advances in robotics, engineering, and physical AI, Vulcan is our first robot with a sense of touch.” Amazon called it a fundamental leap forward in robotics. “It’s not just seeing the world, it’s feeling it, enabling capabilities that were impossible for Amazon robots until now.”
An interesting factoid: Amazon said the over 750,000 robots it has deployed in fulfillment centers over the past dozen years play a role in completing 75% of customer orders.
