Volvo Recalls More Than 400,000 Vehicles Over Backup Cameras – Kelley Blue Book


Volvo has recalled 413,151 vehicles equipped with Google built-in infotainment systems because their backup cameras may not display an image.

The company tells federal safety officials that a software conflict can prevent the image from showing. Drivers instead see a “camera is temporarily not available” message.

Volvo will fix the problem with a software update. However, many of these cars can’t receive updates over the air, so owners will need to bring them in for the free upload.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
