EU nations on Friday agreed to establish a special, Nuremberg-style tribunal to bring charges against Russian President Vladimir Putin and other senior Russian officials for invading Ukraine in February 2022.
Prominent international lawyers, European political leaders and the government of Ukraine have been calling for the establishment of such a tribunal since shortly after the war broke out. The war between Russia and Ukraine is the largest and deadliest in Europe since World War II.
