In a flashpoint case that has drawn interest and condemnation from both sides of the political aisle, the FBI arrested Milwaukee judge Hannah Dugan on April 25 for allegedly obstructing a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest and deportation operation at the Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
The criminal complaint filed against Dugan on April 24 in the Eastern District of Wisconsin alleged that she escorted a Mexican immigrant who was scheduled to appear before her through a jury door to evade capture by ICE after learning of the agents’ presence at her courthouse.
