The ousted head of the U.S. Copyright Office has filed suit against President Donald Trump and asked a federal court to reverse her removal and block the administration’s chosen replacements from asserting any powers over the office or the Library of Congress.
The suit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeks declaratory and injunctive relief as well as an emergency temporary restraining order on behalf of Shira Perlmutter, register of copyrights and director of the U.S. Copyright Office.
