    Ford Recalls Over 1 Million Vehicles Due to Faulty Backup Cameras

    Ford Recalls Over 1 Million Vehicles Due to Faulty Backup Cameras

    Ford and its Lincoln luxury arm have recalled 1,075,299 vehicles because their rearview cameras may freeze or fail to display an image.

    Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:

    • 2021-2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
    • 2021-2024 Ford Bronco
    • 2021-2024 Ford Edge
    • 2021-2024 Ford F-150
    • 2022-2024 Ford Expedition
    • 2023-2024 Ford Escape
    • 2023-2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty
    • 2023-2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty
    • 2023-2024 Ford F-450 Super Duty
    • 2023-2024 Ford F-550 Super Duty
    • 2023-2024 Ford F-600 Super Duty
    • 2022-2025 Ford Transit
    • 2024 Ford Ranger
    • 2024 Ford Mustang
    • 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus
    • 2022-2024 Lincoln Navigator
    • 2023-2024 Lincoln Corsair

    The company tells federal safety officials the problem is software-related and occurs only in vehicles running versions 1.7, 1.8, or 1.9 of Ford’s Sync4 infotainment system.

    The company knows of no injuries, but at least one claim of property damage that may be related to the problem.

    Dealers will update the software to Sync4 version 2.0 or above to fix the problem.

    By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

    Automakers recall many cars, sometimes more than once. Manufacturers try to reach every owner to warn them.
