Volkswagen will not raise prices on new cars in June, the company announced.
Hefty tariffs on new cars and the parts used to build them have made both importing cars and building them in the U.S. significantly more expensive this spring.
But Volkswagen announced yesterday that it “will continue to hold vehicle pricing at current MSRPs through the month of June. In an effort to keep vehicles affordable for our customers, the brand will cover today’s increased costs.”

Volkswagen assembles some vehicles in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and imports others from Mexico and Germany.
Several automakers have pledged to hold prices flat for as long as possible. Others have begun announcing price increases. Subaru said it was forced to raise prices on most of its lineup, while Ford has targeted price increases at certain imported models while keeping others steady.
