Outfitting every room of our new Florida home with ceiling fans was no small task, but one of the installations was a breeze—the Dreo Smart Ceiling Fan. I put this fan in my home office, and of all the models I installed in my home, this one was by far the easiest. The instructions were clearly written, the fan blades snapped into place effortlessly (and securely), and I appreciated the included hardware for both 4-inch and 6-inch rod options. Even before powering it on, I could tell the Dreo had a more premium design than many of the other fans I had been working with.

Once it was up and running, the remote control was an immediate highlight. It lets users cycle through six different fan speeds and adjust both the brightness and color temperature of the main light. There’s also a subtle RGB circle around the main light that can switch between seven preset colors via the remote—fun and surprisingly functional for a bit of mood lighting or nighttime ambiance.
But the real magic happens in the app. The Dreo connects quickly and painlessly to the home’s Wi-Fi network. Through the app, users can set the RGB light to any hue of any color on the color wheel and even create dynamic effects, such as color breathing or rainbow cycles. The app also unlocks options for scheduling, bedtime dimming routines, and smart home integration with Alexa or Google Assistant. It adds a level of customization and automation that feels truly smart—not gimmicky.
What impresses me most about Dreo’s products is the attention to detail. Every feature feels thoughtfully designed and well executed. I’ve used (and returned) a few other “smart” ceiling fans that couldn’t even connect reliably to their apps. This one just works, and it looks great doing it. The modern design fits seamlessly into the room, and it’s whisper-quiet, even at high speeds. I love the “natural” fan setting, which is much slower than the slowest “regular” setting; it makes me feel like I’m enjoying a pleasant breeze on a terrace in Europe somewhere. All that’s missing is the glass of wine. It’s truly magical.
The price is shockingly competitive at its regular cost of $220, especially when factoring in the smart capabilities and quality build. If you’re upgrading a room and want a fan that actually lives up to its “smart” label, I wholeheartedly recommend the Dreo. It made my install process smoother, my office cooler, and my lighting setup just a little more fun.
