Visa Inc.’s attempt to quickly put an end to the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust case didn’t appear to land with the Manhattan federal court, with a judge questioning whether he could address Visa’s concerns about the officials’ market definition at the motion to dismiss stage.
Represented by Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer and Wilkinson Stekloff, Visa pushed to dismiss the eight-month-old case on the grounds that federal prosecutors had taken an overly narrow view of the debit transactions market to argue that Visa wielded outsized influence in the space.
