Etsy Among Sites Impacted by Widespread Internet Outage

Etsy is experiencing technical issues that may be related to those impacting many major sites on Thursday afternoon, including at least some Google services. The Etsy website is accessible, but shoppers searching on Etsy are taken to a page that reads, “Uh oh! A stitch has gone awry. Please try again later.” And sellers are reporting they have lost functionality (the Etsy discussion boards continued to function during the outage).

At 3:43, an Etsy moderator responded to seller concerns in the discussion board thread: “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re investigating the issue, and we’ll share an update as soon as we have more information. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this.”

A scan of DownDetector.com’s home page shows many sites are impacted by technical issues that had started to be reported about 1:50 pm and peaked at 2:39. Etsy posted to its Status page at 2:03 pm that it was investigating an issue. At 4:05, it posted the following update: “We’re currently impacted by an infrastructure outage which is causing issues across the Etsy experience. Members may experience difficulties when it comes to adding and updating photos on their listings or utilizing Search.”

CNBC reported that Google Cloud Services and Amazon Web Services as well as Cloudflare were all experiencing issues. Many sites rely on one or more of those services to run. Update 6/12/2025: Amazon was not impacted by the issues stemming from Google’s issues.

Update 6/12/2025: At 5:04, Etsy posted the following update on its Status page: “A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results.” At 5:35, Etsy posted the issue was “resolved.”
