‘A Tipping Point’?: Ninth Circuit Stays District Judge’s Order to Block Deployment of National Guard to Los Angeles

The California National Guard will remain deployed to Los Angeles “pending further order” after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit stayed a ruling that blocked the Trump administration’s federalization of troops to quell protests against immigration operations.

The Ninth Circuit on Thursday evening granted the government’s request for an administrative stay of a temporary restraining order issued by Judge Charles Breyer, who presides in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco.
