Peloton Interactive Inc. has made changes to its executive leadership, appointing veteran marketer Megan Imbres as chief marketing officer and promoting Francis Shanahan to the newly created role of chief technology officer.

The executive leadership changes reflect Peloton’s strategy to expand its enterprise business and invest in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven product development.

The leadership shifts come as Peloton accelerates growth in Peloton for Business, its B2B initiative offering fitness solutions to employers, health plans, and hospitality providers. The company expanded its enterprise client base in 2025, positioning the program as a core growth driver alongside its consumer subscription model.

By bolstering both marketing and technology leadership, Peloton aims to strengthen member engagement and expand its capabilities in AI and enterprise services amid continued competition in the connected fitness space.

    About the new Peloton executives

Imbres joins the company on July 7. She will oversee all aspects of marketing, including global brand, product and growth marketing, creative strategy, consumer insights, and member engagement. She reports directly to CEO Peter Stern.

Imbres brings over 20 years of experience leading consumer campaigns at major technology and entertainment firms. At Apple, she served as managing director of the marketing communications group in Los Angeles. She oversaw campaigns for Apple’s services, including Apple Music and Apple TV. Earlier in her career, she held senior marketing roles at Netflix, where she helped launch global originals, as well as Amazon Ads and short-form video startup Quibi.

Peloton promoted Shanahan from senior vice president of connected fitness software. He will now lead Peloton’s engineering, software, and technology strategy. He reports to chief product officer Nick Caldwell.

    His responsibilities will include:

    • Developing AI-powered personalization tools
    • Scaling Peloton’s platform infrastructure
    • Guiding product architecture across hardware and digital content

Since joining Peloton in 2021, Shanahan has led the development of several user-facing features, including Pace Targets and Personalized Plans. He also played a significant role in revamping the platform’s content discovery experience.
