Ford to Repeat Tire Pressure Recall for Some F-150 Lightning Trucks

Ford is issuing a second recall for 192 F-150 Lightning pickups from model year 2022 because an earlier repair may not have properly fixed their tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).

Ford recalled more than 2,600 trucks to update TPMS software in 2022. But the company has since learned that the system dealers used to update software could sometimes report success even when it failed. Dealers returned some trucks to owners, believing they were repaired when they were not.

The company can identify those trucks. So, it will ask owners to bring them back in to have the update installed a second time. Dealers have a new update process that should prevent the error from happening again.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car needs any critical safety repairs at our recall center.
