Hyundai has recalled 10,409 Ioniq 5 electric SUVs because the right-hand headlights may be aimed incorrectly.

Hyundai tells federal safety regulators that improperly maintained factory molds may have applied the wrong markings, explaining how to aim them to service technicians. A technician aiming the headlights according to the instructions might misalign them. Hyundai states the headlamps were installed correctly at the factory.

With most recalls, automakers ask owners to bring the cars in for repair. But a sticker can fix this defect. So Hyundai will mail affected 2025 Ioniq 5 owners a label with the corrected aiming instructions and directions on where to place it in the car.

Hyundai says customers can bring the label to their dealer if they would rather have dealership employees add it.

Automakers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Find out whether your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
