- Jeep has released photos, but no details, on the return of the Cherokee
- Industry rumors suggest a hybrid-only model
Jeep today released a second teaser photo showing the rebirth of its Cherokee small SUV.
The company last built a Cherokee for the 2023 model year. It announced the vehicle’s return last month, releasing a front-angle photo. That image showed a design much like the larger Grand Cherokee, with a squat, wide interpretation of the classic 7-slot grille and a black floating roof.
This latest shot shows it from the rear, carrying a kayak and a bike on a roof rack. From this angle, it looks a bit more compact and rounded than the front angle shows. A badge indicates 4-wheel drive (4WD), a given for a Jeep product.
That’s all anyone outside Jeep knows about the car for now. Industry rumors say the 2026 Cherokee will be the first hybrid-only Jeep. We’ll bring more information as the reveal date approaches.
