Bye-bye, fakes.

Kim Kardashian is in Venice today swinging past Gothic and Byzantine villas on her way to the wedding of the world’s third-richest man. Back home, a legal issue over minimalist furniture has been resolved.
Donald Judd’s foundation settled a lawsuit over Kardashian’s claim in a 2022 video that she had “these Donald Judd tables” that “are really amazing” in her office. It turned out they weren’t by Judd, whose foundation sued Kardashian and her supplier, Clements Design. The suit demanded that she take down the video, which she did. (It lives on forever on TMZ’s Facebook page, where you can hear her say, “I’ve gotten really into furniture lately.”)
ArtNews reported on the settlement and highlighted what it called a “surprising twist”: Kardashian has gotten a delivery of “authentic Donald Judd tables and chairs from Donald Judd Furniture LLC.” That’s according to a statement from the foundation and Clements Design. If it’s surprising, it’s because the foundation’s lawyer previously told the New York Times that they “don’t want to be mixed up with Kim Kardashian.”
It’s not public if Kardashian paid to settle claims she “misled” her audience about the provenance of her office furniture. But if she paid for the real thing — Judd’s La Mansana Table 22 and a dozen or so of his Chair 84 — that constitutes a kind of settlement in itself. The table costs $90,000 and the chairs are $9,000 each.
