Tesla has issued a recall for 48 Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs for the 2026 model year because their rear seats may not have been installed properly.
The company tells federal safety regulators that “one or more fasteners used to attach the seat back to the seat bottom may have been improperly torqued during seat assembly.” Seats are safety features, and can cause injuries in an accident if they’re not properly attached.
So the company will inspect the seats and, if necessary, replace the fasteners, attaching them to the specified torque, to fix the problem.
