Marc Winterhoff is Lucid’s interim chief executive officer. Winterhoff became the company’s interim chief after Peter Rawlinson stepped down in February 2025 and transitioned to the role of strategic technical advisor to the board chair. The company’s largest shareholder is Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which owns a nearly 60% stake in Lucid.
Lucid designs its cars in Newark, California, and assembles them primarily in Casa Grande, Arizona, facilities. The company recently acquired select facilities previously belonging to Nikola Corp., in Arizona, as Lucid looks to expand manufacturing and more. Its first vehicle, the Lucid Air sedan, debuted in 2022. Lucid Air gets an EPA estimated range of up to 512 miles, the highest of any electric vehicle (as of this writing). The Lucid Gravity SUV debuted in 2025. The carmaker plans a cheaper SUV dubbed Lucid Earth, which could debut as soon as 2027.
