U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla is set to preside over the criminal trial of Roman Storm in the Southern District of New York, which is set to begin on Monday and expected to go on for three weeks or more. The Treasury Department blacklisted the company Storm founded for its alleged role in laundering virtual currency for malicious cyber actors, including Lazarus Group, a North Korean hacking group that used Tornado Cash to launder proceeds from cybercrime.
