    How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Bravo Mondays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.

After ending a particularly tough charter in Episode 7, Season 12, the Below Deck crew was eager find out how much they’d been tipped. When they discovered what they earned from the tumultuous few days, yachtie Rainbeau de Roos had a lot to say.

After the rowdy guests left, the crew met in the sky lounge to evaluate their performance on the charter and, most importantly, see how much cash was in their tip envelope.

“Quite a charter, lots of challenges involved,” Captain Kerry Titheradge told the crew, quipping, “Incredibly amazing, kind, and friendly guests.”

The captain also applauded his new bosun, Hugo Ortega, chef Anthony Iracane, and chief stew Fraser Olender for all of their hard work during the charter. However, he did say he was sensing some “complacency” among the crew. “Now’s not the time for us to just flatline,” the Australia native declared.

Finally, it was time to reveal the tip. Kerry announced that the crew made $27,500, meaning each crew member made $2,100 each. He called the tip “absolutely incredible,” but Rainbeau had a different way of describing the cash gift.

“It’s a good, average, solid tip. Average sized. Who doesn’t love average sized? Doesn’t need to be ginormous,” she told a producer before bursting into laughter.

Inside the Below Deck crew’s “really tough” charter

The tip amount was a decent end to an otherwise harrowing charter. When the guests first arrived in Episode 6, Fraser immediately sensed trouble.

“[Captain], they’re gonna be really tough,” Fraser told Kerry. The chief stew also commented that the crew would “be on their toes for the next few days,” and the yachtie couldn’t have been more correct.

The guest proved to be a problem, demeaning certain yachties, like Rainbeau, and demanding elaborate excursions, like a luxurious dock party with live music — thankfully, Fraser and the rest of the crew pulled it off.

After the successful dock party, the guests pushed the crew to their limit during dinner. “They have no decorum [or] class,” Fraser vented in episode 7.

Rainbeau reflected on the guests’ behavior in a confessional. “It’d be fair if you were drunk and a good time, but when you get drunk and rude and sloppy, like, f—k you,” she said.

A look back on the Below Deck crew’s “pathetic” tip last charter

Even if their most recent tip was just “average,” according to Rainbeau, the Below Deck crew has dealt with way worse. In Season 12, Episode 4, the crew was shocked by a measly tip from a five-day charter with eight guests.

After said charter, Kerry applauded the crew for their hard work. “I am really impressed with everyone’s performance this charter,” Kerry said. “The theme nights, the water sports, the food.”

However, the good news ended there: “[The tip] doesn’t reflect it though,” Kerry added. “It’s pathetic.”

Kerry then revealed that the tip totaled $19,990, meaning each crew member earned $1,500. Although the number may seem large, he explained that for a five-day charter, he “would expect a lot more.”

The crew was understandably discouraged. “We got shafted,” deckhands Damo Yorg and Kyle Stillie said in Episode 4 interviews.

“They gave us the whiskey d–k equivalent of a tip,” Damo added.
