Estée Lauder Companies, the parent company of prestige brands such as La Mer and MAC Cosmetics, announced on Wednesday that Aude Gandon will be its new chief marketing and digital officer. She joins the American cosmetics giant from Nestlé, where she was global chief marketing officer, and also held senior roles at Google and advertising agencies like Leo Burnett.
In a statement, Estée Lauder Companies’ chief executive Stéphane de La Faverie described Gandon as an accomplished marketer with experience in “transforming major consumer-facing businesses in the digital age”, saying that her experience with brand strategy and data analytics set her apart.
Her appointment into this newly created role caps off an extended period of executive reshuffle at Estée Lauder Companies, which has seen new leaders across many of its functions, including chief executive and financial officers and new leadership strategies across many of its global brands and markets, meant to empower faster decision-making as the company works to revive consumer interest in its portfolio.
“Her global perspective and proven track record of leading large-scale marketing, digital and media transformations make her the ideal leader for this critical role as we shape the future of prestige beauty,” said de La Faverie.
