Business and ecommerce software provider Doss has acquired Genie, a London-based inventory management platform used by Shopify merchants.
Genie founder Sebastiaan Debrouwere will join Doss as head of partnerships and ecosystem. The companies did not disclose terms of the deal.
The acquisition expands Doss’s capabilities in inventory and supply chain management for ecommerce businesses. Genie supports more than 300 merchants and processes over $18 million in supplier orders each month across a network of 20,000 vendors.
In North America, 117 of the Top 2000 online retailers use Shopify as their ecommerce platform. The Top 2000 is Digital Commerce 360’s database of the largest online retailers in the region by their annual ecommerce sales. In 2024, those 117 online retailers combined for more than $9.78 billion in web sales.

Doss CEO Wiley Jones said the move strengthens the company’s partner strategy and adds operational expertise.
“Genie has built a solid product with strong adoption,” Jones said. “Sebastiaan brings valuable experience that will help us grow our integration and partner efforts.”
Debrouwere, a former venture investor at Balderton Capital, founded Genie to help online sellers better manage inventory, automate reordering, and streamline supplier relationships. Genie raised a $5.8 million seed round in August 2022 led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), which had not been previously disclosed.
“Joining Doss allows us to build on that foundation and offer a broader solution for growing ecommerce businesses,” said Debrouwere.
San Francisco-based Doss offers modular business software that combines inventory, order, and accounting functions into a single system. The company raised $18 million in funding in April 2025, led by Theory Ventures.
The deal reflects a growing interest in flexible software tools designed for online retailers and supply chain operators, as companies seek simpler ways to manage operations at scale.
