Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) and Provi have reached what they call “a mutually satisfactory resolution of the lawsuit” between the two companies.
The resolution clears the way for a national partnership aimed at enhancing digital ordering for licensed retailers. Provi is a B2B digital marketplace for the beverage alcohol industry. Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC)is one of the largest wine and spirits distributors in the U.S.
Announced July 28, the agreement includes a new system integration. It will allow retailers to place orders from RNDC directly through Provi’s online platform. They will roll out integration later this year. RNDC and Provi designed the integration to expand retailer access to RNDC’s portfolio across the markets it serves.
“This collaboration will provide licensed retailers across U.S. markets served by RNDC with enhanced access to the distributor’s portfolio via Provi’s marketplace,” the companies stated in a joint press release. “The new integration aligns with RNDC’s commitment to meet evolving customer needs and deliver the best-in-class omnichannel customer experience no matter where they start their journey.”
How RNDC and Provi are integrating their systems
The integration will complement RNDC’s existing ecommerce platform, eRNDC, by adding Provi as an additional digital channel. Retailers will be able to browse RNDC products and submit orders within the Provi interface. They will also be able to preserve their existing workflows and relationships.
“Our purpose is to serve the evolving needs of our partners — our associates, suppliers, customers, and the broader industry,” said Bob Hendrickson, president and CEO of RNDC. “This agreement reflects our continued focus on smart, practical innovation that enhances how we serve the industry. By partnering with Provi, we will give customers more flexibility in how they work with us, while maintaining the reliability and consistency they expect from RNDC.”
Taylor Katzman, founder and CEO of Provi, emphasized the broader industry impact of the integration.
“We are excited to work alongside the RNDC team to advance our shared vision for the industry,” he said. “Provi and RNDC are committed to improving the beverage alcohol space while supporting the evolving needs of retailers and their distributor partners — within the framework of the three-tier system. This strategic relationship brings us closer to building a more efficient and connected industry.”
Neither company disclosed additional terms of the legal resolution. The lawsuit — filed in 2022 — centered on alleged restrictions around distributor participation on Provi’s platform.
The new partnership reflects a broader shift in the alcohol distribution industry toward digital tools that streamline operations for suppliers, distributors, and retailers alike.
