eBay promoted its head of Global Payments and Financial Services Avritti Mittal to oversee additional organizations, including Advertising, Shipping, B2C/Stores, and Monetization.
The news came from a LinkedIn post by Mittal announcing her new role as Global Head of Product for eBay Services, leading all of eBay’s “revenue-driving product lines,” including Payments & Financial Services, Advertising, Shipping, B2C & Stores, and Monetization.
“Together,” she said, “these businesses are core to our strategy of delivering relevant, scalable, and magical experiences for our global community of buyers and sellers while driving eBay’s long-term sustainable growth.”
Mittal, who joined the company in 2021, said eBay had unlocked billions in incremental GMV since it began managing payments end-to-end (Managed Payments), which had been overseen by Alyssa Cutright, who left eBay in 2022.
In her LinkedIn post, Mittal welcomed eBay’s Global Shipping, Ads, B2C and Stores, and Monetization product teams to her Global Payments & Financial Services team.
“I’m truly energized to carry our amazing momentum into my new role – helping shape the future of eCommerce for Enthusiasts through groundbreaking products that inspire and empower our customers while accelerating eBay’s growth.”
Sellers may be unfamiliar with the “Monetization” department; an eBay job posting explained: “We are looking for a driven Lead Product Manager to join our team and lead the development of the core monetization platform that drives company business growth. As a member of our monetization team, you will be responsible for the marketplace pricing platform and tools, unlocking revenue opportunities across key categories and regions and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver on partner goals. This includes implementing optimal monetization strategies and working closely with core engineering and design leads, business leads, and multiple product and engineering teams across eBay. This individual contributor role is expected to drive execution of multiple product initiatives in a matrix organization.” (Emphasis added.)
Mittal will be attending this year’s eBay Open seller conference. Last year, she presented information about eBay’s financial services at the conference, which can be viewed on the following YouTube video beginning at minute 47:20:
