By now, you may have noticed something funny is going on with Google search, but we have some good news: You can now set Curbed and New York Magazine to show up in the “Top Stories” section of your search results. It’s a new feature that Google recently rolled out called “Preferred Sources,” which lets you designate certain outlets as the ones you trust and want to read first. This way, when you’re looking up the latest news on New York City’s built environment, architecture, real estate, and design, you don’t have to settle for a random blog post or 25 brokerages trying to sell you the same apartment.
All you have to do is click on this link while signed into your Google account (Curbed is preselected here). You should see Curbed below the search bar. Go ahead and check the box next to Curbed. That’s it! And make sure to add New York Magazine (which includes Intelligencer and the Strategist), Vulture, The Cut, and Grub Street — there’s no limit to how many sources you can select. Finally, an internet you can actually use!
If you want a handy way to read all of it, anytime, you can always subscribe and download our app, and, if you haven’t already, make sure to follow Curbed on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
